The meeting was called to order at 10:03AM by President Iris Atkins. Pastor Ron led the congregation with a prayer.
Council President Iris Atkins addressed the congregation and then introduced Chris Lewis. Chris Lewis informed the congregation that preschool planning committee had been formed. Members include; Neila & Rus Stover, Chris & Jean Lewis, Ron & Diane Nissan, and Brett & Colleen Perkins.
Chris Lewis informed us that he, along with Brett Perkins had met with the owners of the preschool. He helped clarify that the school was actually a Montessori-type school with an extended daycare. He also discovered that licensing a daycare may be less strict. The ages of the children in the school/daycare would range from 2-6 years of age.
Chris Lewis spoke with Chula Vista School Superintendent, Francisco Escobedo who put Chris Lewis in touch with head of facilities manager, John Oredia. A meeting was scheduled for Monday, July 18, 2016 with Debra Cleff of Webb Cleff, an arcitecture and engineering firm.
Chris Lewis made a motion to proceed with the plans. The motion was seconded by Billy Cox. A vote was taken of the congregational members. There were 78 members present, 75 members voted in favor of proceeding, 3 abstained. The meeting was closed with a prayer by Pastor Ron.
