The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President David Perez. Pastor Ron led with prayer.
Boy Scout Eagle Projects: Noah gave an update on his eagle project to build a memorial garden in front of the sanctuary. He said the cost would be $2,500, The cost of bricks is $1,000, but RCP may donate some of the bricks. An 18 inch retaining wall is required. He will make an announcement to the congregation to ask for donations.
Jonah gave an update on his eagle project, the renovation of the rose garden. He stated his cost is $2489.79. The wood surrounding the rose garden had termites and had to be removed. This project involves removing two retaining walls to lessen the slope and build an arch. The scoutmaster will provide a cement mixer and a Bobcat tractor.
The minutes of the August meeting were read. A motion was made by Pastor Ron to accept the minutes, seconded by Iris, approved by all.
Treasurers Report: Laura stated that the facility use fees from Jan 2015 to Aug 2015 were $27,002.29. This figure was compared to the $25,843 collected from May 2014 to Dec 2014. She also said that Mission Investment told her the interest rate on the church loan would drop to 3.875%.
Laura will seek a budget committee to work on the 2016 church budget. She wants to start in October.
Paul Ford made a motion to accept the treasurers report, seconded by Pastor Ron, approved by all.
The School District vote on the charter school has been delayed until Oct 14. An announcement will be made to the congregation to update them on the cell tower, solar, and charter school. The congregation will vote on the charter school at a meeting following the service on Oct 25.
Council is looking for candidates to fill up to six available positions on the Council.
David made a motion to replace Council member Benjamin Ibarra with Gaby Gutierrez.
Seconded by Dawn, approved by all.
