The ANGEL TREE Program provides a way for an incarcerated parent to give 2 Christmas gifts to each of his/her children. He/she makes the request through the prison chaplain. These children are among the most at-risk youth in America and need our prayers. We at St. Mark’s have the privilege of buying these gifts in the name of the child’s incarcerated parent.
Volunteers are needed to call the incarcerated parent (for gift ideas + permission for child to receive the gifts); help with the writing on the angels and tracking sheets; set up the tree; help “man” the table; buy gifts; sort gifts; & deliver gifts.
July, 2011, was the first time that we have sponsored Angel Tree children to go to camp with other Angel Tree children. We did this in connection with Shadow Mountain Church and hope to continue this each summer.
Thank you for your wonderful support of this program for so many years. Please contact Karin in the church office or Dorothy Geier (479-9975 or hdgeier@gmail.com) or Diane Nissen 427-0982 if you have questions or want to volunteer.
