The Mission Prayer Group was established in 2009 as members of the church worked to develop the Core Values and Mission Statement of the church. Also needed was a group to pray for guidance during this process. A small group began to pray for the church itself, its church council, the staff, the general membership and all the groups and processes involved. Prayers were said (and are still being said) said to ask for God’s blessing and enlightenment when making administrative decisions. We ask the Holy Spirit to work through us to serve others within St. Mark’s and the Chula Vista community. Prayers of thanks are given for all the many blessings that St. Mark’s church body receives. The prayers continue today and requests are regularly updated. We also occasionally pray for the family and friends of the Mission Prayer Group itself, giving support to each other as we pray for all of St. Mark’s.
