The Annual Friendship Tea sponsored by the women of St. Mark’s was held on Saturday March 12th, at St. Mark’s at 1pm in Jacobson Hall! This year’s theme was “My Cup Runneth Over”. Thank you to all the hostesses, to our special guest from Janet Goff from My Cup of Tea on Third Avenue, to the men who helped to set up and take down the tables and to Ruby Hultenius for the multi media retrospective of the event!

Our March 21st 2015 Friendship Tea “Harmony in your Heart” was a huge success.

Ruby made a nice video to commemorate the lovely day with music from the bell ringers.

Our February 2014  Friendship Tea was on the theme: “The Prayer Quilt Ministry at St. Mark’s”.  Guest Speaker was Wendy Matheson, an originator of Prayers & Squares from Hope Methodist, Rancho Bernardo. The tea was a huge success. We made $2600 for our benevolences.  Ruby made a nice montage of photos from the tea with music from the Miriam Singers.

Saturday September 7th was the kick off day for WELCA’s Women’s bible study. The theme for the year is In Good Company: Stories of Biblical Women written by R. Rev Kay Ward who is retired from the faculty and staff of Moravian theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA. She was elected a bishop in the Moravian United in 1998, the first woman chosen in is 50-year history. Here Pastor Ron introduces the study:

Saturday, March 9, 2013, Pacifica Women of the ELCA  sponsored a day of “Unseen Footprints.” Churches from as far east as Palm Desert, as far north as Orange County, from the Inland Empire, and north and south San Diego,  gathered at King of Kings, Oceanside.  Guests brought gifts of shoes to supply disadvantaged children with the shoes and socks needed to participate in PE and field trips.  There was a guest speaker, good food, Bible study, and much more.  Car pools went up from St. Mark’s.

Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 1 p.m., was the annual St. Mark’s Friendship Tea.

The program was a special presentation by our St. Mark’s member, Carol Waibel, from her unusual doll collection and the Chula Vista Antique Doll Club”. We had special music and a silent auction of gift baskets. All of the funds collected support the benevolences and ministry of our church.

Thank you Joan Harshman and Betty Vest.

Here are photos from the tea edited together by Ruby Hultenius!

September 8, 2012  We had our first WELCA Meeting of the new year. A continental breakfast was served at 10 a.m. in Jacobson Hall on Saturday, September 8, 2012.  Pastor Ron  introduced and provided special insight into the Women of the ELCA’s new Bible Study, “Gathered by God. Here is a little taste of what he said.

We have 80 women in our church studying the Word and sharing fellowship and looking forward to an interesting year of bible study together. If you are not a part of a circle and would like to participate in Bible study and fellowship, you are invited and welcomed to start any time and you do not need to be a member at St. Mark’s Church. All are welcome!!

We had a very interesting program about guide dogs. Guide dogs of the Desert–is about volunteers who understand servant hood and giving. They are people who are willing to give their time to support the blind or otherwise disabled (especially veterans).
They breed the dogs, raise the dogs, support the training of the dogs, and train the disabled person to handle the dog. And then start all over.

Thanks to all who came and shared their service animals at the Mother Daughter Luncheon.
1 Peter 4:10b – serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.

“The W-ELCA Planning Committee thanks everyone who attended and helped to make our annual Friendship Tea wonderful!”

We had a silent auction and a “Vintage Fashion Show.”

The hostesses provided food, decorations and served the guests at her table.

Lois Masterson  organized the fashion show for the Women’s Friendship Tea.
