Minutes of Council Meeting, January 2016

Members Present-  Georgene Nightingale, Gabby Gutierrez, Bob Lechner, Pastor Ron, David Perez, Paul Ford, Dawn Andrews, Alicia Saenz, Nan Stufkosky

Members Not Present- Iris Atkins

Non-Members Present- Laura Ortiz, Stephanie Rodriguez

President David Perez opened the meeting at 7:00 PM.  Pastor Ron led the prayer.

Financial Report- Treasurer Laura Ortiz reported that the Chester Kaho donation did not go into the designated funds as planned, so we will end the year with a +$800.  The funds for the projects planned for the donation will be deducted from the 2016 budget.  The motion to accept the report was made by Paul Ford, seconded by Georgene Nightingale, and approved by all.  Laura presented the 2016 Budget.  Included was a page of one-time income and expenses.  The Budget will be presented to the congregation on 1/17/2016.  The motion to accept the budget was made by David Perez, seconded by Pastor Ron, and approved by all.

Director of Operations Report- Brett Perkins report states that a private Montessori preschool is interested in contracting with St Marks to use the church property.  They have about 40 students.  The motion was made to pursue the proposal by Paul Ford, seconded by Dawn Andrews, approved by all.

Council discussed how to set the fees for internment of ashes in the garden cross garden now that Noah has finished his Eagle Scout project.

Alicia Saenz reported on the successful Christmas Posada celebration, and the donations received.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:12 PM.
