President David Perez opened the meeting at 7:00PM. Pastor Ron led with a prayer.
At a previous meeting Pastor Ron stated that the emergency lighting system may need replacement of the large back-up batteries. However, he said that when Brett Perkins checked with the city, they said no system is required by code. The battery powered ‘EXIT’ lights are sufficient.
Treasurers Report- The current budget is balanced due to the Chester Kaho donation ($44,435) being recorded as income foe 2015. However the $7,505 for parking lot sealing needs to be transferred to a designated fund. Also, $2,000 for Narthex improvement, and $15,000 for benevolence needs to be in designated funds.
The budget will appear as a -$6,119.72 through November. However, when expenses for parking lot, narthex, and benevolence come out of the budget, they will not bean additional negative.
Pastor Rons insurance cost increased. Council voted to cover the increase. Motion made by Georgene, seconded by Nan, approved by all, with Pastor Ron abstaining.
Pastor Ron showed a preview of the art installation for the narthex. Several members had questions about the installation, and Pastor Ron said he will have a more detailed presentation for the Council at the next meeting.
There was a discussion to make the driveway entrance on the north end of the parking lot on Hilltop Drive more visible. It was also discussed whether it should it be one way. Council will task Brett to look into it.
The Annual Meeting is planned for January 24th. A budget informational meeting will be on January 17th after the service.
